Using the tutorial provided within today’s training (timestamp 1:28), and the “Exposure Therapy Plan Worksheet” provided below, follow these steps to create your own exposure therapy plan.
STEP 1 – Write down your fears in a list
STEP 2 – Using what you have learnt today – rationalise them, understand what you are actually scared of.
STEP 3 – Then, explore what the genuine worst case scenario would be for each fear.
STEP 4 – Then, explore what you would do in that worst case scenario.
STEP 5 – Next, explore what the likely case scenario actually is.
STEP 6 – After that, write down what exposure action needs to be taken to overcome this fear.
STEP 7 – Identify how you’ll make it attractive.
STEP 8 – Identify how you’ll make it obvious.
STEP 9 – Identify how you’ll make it easy.
STEP 10 – Identify how you’ll make it satisfying.
STEP 11 – Add a deadline for when you’re going to take that exposure action.
STEP 12 – Get some accountability to complete the exposure action.
